| Thai Life Insurance Co., Ltd. has been a LOMA member
since 1981. From an array of benefits offered by LOMA, education
is an area the company takes the most advantage of. Research
reports, conferences and seminars from LOMA also provide an
insight on the information needed to understand the insurance
businesss global environment and mapping our strategy.
In 2003 LOMA (Life Office Management Association) and LIMRA
(Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association) held their
Annual Strategic Issues Conference in Thailand. Thai Life
Insurance Company proudly joined the conference as the main
sponsor. Our President, who at that time was the Director
and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Chai Chaiyawan, participated
in the Asian CEO Forum.
In addition to our own training programs, LOMA offers courses
that fit into employee development plans. Each Spring and
Fall semester, our staff enroll in courses such as FLMI, ACS,
ICA and many more. Those who take the courses, particularly
our new staff, realize in time that LOMA courses can help
them thoroughly understand the insurance business, rapidly
ease them into their routine work, give them continuous improvements
and, finally, guide them into becoming an insurance professional.
Incentives such as reimbursing the registration fees, monetary
award, and announcement through the companys publications
and bulletin boards are given to those who pass the examination.
From time to time the incentive schemes are revised in order
to encourage learning and LOMA enrollment. The company is
proud of the steadily increasing enrollments. As reported
by LOMA the enrollments from 2001 to 2003 are 148, 180 and
211 respectively.
This coming Fall semester 2004, Thai Life staff have already
enrolled in over 90 courses.
